About This App

This interactive map shows what’s happening in the UK housing market. You can switch between Rent and Sale to see how prices change across different areas, then narrow down the results by choosing the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, or the type of property.

Each area on the map is coloured so you can quickly spot where homes are more affordable or more expensive. Hover over an area to see the average asking price and the number of available listings that match your filters.

How It Works

• Areas shown: Properties are grouped by postcode district (e.g. SW1 in London or EH3 in Edinburgh).
• What’s measured: For each district, the map shows the average asking price and the number of active listings.
• Filters: Change the filters (e.g. “2+ bedrooms”) and the map instantly updates with matching properties.
• Colours: Darker colours usually mean higher prices, lighter colours lower prices — helping you compare at a glance.

Things to Keep in Mind

• Prices shown are asking prices from live listings, not final sale prices.
• Some areas may have fewer listings, which can make prices look less stable.
• We clean the data, but occasional duplicates or unusual prices may appear.
• Last updated: 09/08/2025
